DART Activities

What do DART members do?
Opportunities for DART members to get involved include:

College Fairs: In the fall and spring, DART members may represent the University of Oregon at college fairs that the admissions staff is unable to attend. Collectively DART may bring several hundred new student prospects to the university each year through these fairs.

High School Visits: In the fall, DART members will have the opportunity to visit local high schools to talk to prospective students about the UO. These visits typically last about an hour and are a way to bring the UO to the students.

Referrals: DART members notify the Office of Admissions about high school students in their communities to whom UO materials should be sent.

Phone Calls and Emails: A DART member may be asked to give a call of encouragement when a student in their area has shown a high degree of interest in the UO. DART members are asked to field questions, talk about visiting campus, and encourage students to apply. In the spring we may ask you to contact admitted students to field last-minute questions and encourage them to attend the UO.

Special Events: Throughout the recruiting season the Office of Admissions or the UO Alumni Association may ask a DART member to host a special event in their area to provide students the opportunity to learn more about the UO and meet members of the university community.
